Coworks networks are accelerating their network expansion plans for 2023. At least nine spaces are expected to be opened this year, involving more than seven million euros in investment. Lisbon and the North region continue to absorb the largest share, say the networks consulted by ECO Pessoa.
With greater or lesser contention, there is no lack of plans for new openings, some already in the first three months of the year. SITIO will manage a new space in the eastern part of Lisbon in the first quarter, and also start work on the creation of a new space in the capital, which should be completed by the end of the year. Idea Spaces plans to open a fifth cowork in Lisbon in the second quarter of 2023. The IWG Group, which owns the Spaces and Regus brands, points to the opening of at least four new units, marking the entry of the Spaces brand in the northern region of country, and representing an investment of “several million euros”. Heden, in turn, wants to open two more shared workplaces in Lisbon.
More cautious, LACS and Ávila Spaces do not move forward with concrete plans, but promise news and reinforce the positioning of brands in 2023. Although the economic context justified, in some cases, possible slowdowns, the balance of 2022 is, for all companies positive cowork networks.
