Fintech House. Home of financial technology start-ups in Portugal has a new address

After two years of life, the hub that brings together the fintech ecosystem in Portugal has a new headquarters. It is located on Avenida Duque de Loulé, in Lisbon, has 2,500 square metres and will allow Fintech House to triple its hosting capacity and dedicate one floor to digital nomads.

After leaving open to Dinheiro Vivo an upcoming move, Fintech House announced this Friday the inauguration of its new home. The Praça da Alegria hub is now packed for Avenida Duque de Loulé, in Lisbon, for a space of 2,500 square metres, which will allow to triple the hosting capacity for more than 200 startups. The fintechs factory, which brings together entrepreneurs in the areas of banking (fintechs), insurance (insurtechs), regulation (regtechs), cybersecurity, crypto and blockchain, thus becomes “one of the largest European hubs”, highlights the organisation, in a statement.

“With this change, Fintech House seeks to continue supporting Portuguese startups and also attracting new ones from outside, which increasingly elect Lisbon as a reference of fintech innovation in Europe,” explain the promoters.

Ready to welcome entrepreneurs, the new headquarters is “a modern ten-storey building”, with natural light in every space, designed to meet the needs of new ways of working and collaborating. Throughout the floors, it is possible to find phonebooths and standing desks, for those who work in hybrid regime; auditorium and workshop room, which will allow Fintech House to continue to be the stage for relevant events in the sector; meeting rooms, which will essentially serve to receive investors and partners; and a lounge, pantry and rooftop for socializing among various companies. One of the novelties brought by the new space is a floor open to the entire community, which has a cafeteria, business lounge and open space: “The ideal workplace for digital nomads”, says the hub.

The initiative, the result of a partnership between Portugal Fintech and the Sítio network of shared workspaces, seeks to support startups in terms of access to capital, connection to talent, proximity to banks, insurers and other mature and regulatory players. Part of the national network of incubators, Fintech House has six official partners that work closely in supporting entrepreneurs, through moments that promote open dialogue and knowledge sharing. They are Banco BPI, Fidelidade, INCM, KPMG, Morais Leitão and VISA.

The hub has grown by leaps and bounds since 2020, the year it was created and hosted 15 startups, and is currently home to 80 national and international businesses, including companies from Brazil, Ukraine, Spain, France, Switzerland, the UK.
